Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Naach-Gaana’ Jibe at Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha Sparks Political Firestorm

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has stirred political tensions following his controversial remarks on the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya. In a viral clip, Gandhi described the event as a “naach-gaana” (song and dance), criticizing the guest list for prioritizing celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Adani, and Ambani over representatives from marginalized communities such as farmers and laborers. This comment has sparked outrage, particularly from the BJP, who accuse Gandhi of disrespecting Hindu sentiments.

The Pran Pratishtha ceremony, held in January 2024, was a significant religious event marking the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol in the Ram Mandir. Gandhi’s comments have led to sharp responses from BJP leaders. Dr. Dinesh Sharma accused him of using these remarks for political gain, suggesting that Gandhi intended to provoke Hindu sentiments for electoral advantage. National BJP Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla echoed these sentiments, accusing Gandhi of repeatedly denigrating the Hindu faith for vote bank politics.

The controversy reflects the deepening political and religious sensitivities surrounding the Ram Mandir, a site of historic and cultural importance in India. The BJP has seized on Gandhi’s comments to rally support, further intensifying the discourse in the lead-up to upcoming elections.

This incident is not the first time Gandhi has made controversial statements regarding the Ram Mandir, adding fuel to the ongoing political debate.
